The Alcatel-Lucent network infrastructure portfolio includes highly scalable and manageable products with embedded security for LANs, WLANs, WANs and MANs. The LAN product family provides manageable layer-2 / layer-3 LAN switches for office, campus and data center networks. The LAN products include both stackable and chassis-based switches that support Power-over-Ethernet plus, IPv6 and interface speeds ranging from 100 Mb/s to 10 Gb/s now and 40 Gb/s to 100 Gb/s in the future. The embedded security in our LAN products provides industry-leading, comprehensive, standards-based network access security.
The WLAN product family provides a highly scalable WLAN solution supporting the latest high-speed (IEEE 802.11n) access, as well as comprehensive, standards-based network access security. The WAN and MAN product families provide gateway routers that enable WAN access, at the same time providing a wealth of service from a single box. In addition, these product families include MPLS switches supporting VPLS technology invented by Alcatel-Lucent, providing virtualisation of network traffic without the overhead of layer-VPN and Border Gateway Protocol.

Safe Network Access Control

Alcatel-Lucent Safe Network Access Control (NAC) provides a fully integrated NAC solution for multi-vendor networks with a variety of managed and non-managed endpoints. Safe NAC provides guest access, host integrity check, and role-based access control to help corporations ensure compliance.
Safe NAC has been shown to reduce costs by automating operational processes and minimising the need for IT operator intervention during the authentication process. There is also simplified troubleshooting and reduced help desk costs which enables a reduction in operational overhead and proactively ensures the health of the network.
The solution offers a number of key benefits including full visibility and control of network activity, protection of network assets and mission critical data, ability to enforce user policies in a centralised manner and most importantly, ability to offer guest access.
