Tools Overview
Once you've gained access to Sun's Partner Portal, you'll have a whole range of valuable and relevant tools at your disposal to help you do business more effectively.
MySun
Accessed via http://mysun.sun.com/ or www.sun.com. Users need to register a username and a unique password to access this site. Provides a portal view of www.sun.com website, allowing users to set preferences and edit views of the site content.
Partner Portal
Accessed via MySun or directly at http://partner.eu.sun.com/. Partners must be granted access by their nominated CWA. Provides access to Partner specific information, including Marketing information, Partner Tools, Product information etc. A one-stop shop for Sun internal information.
WebDesk
The Sun configuration checking tool. All configurations should be validated using this tool which is found on the Partner Portal. (Special access rights are required). Click here for more information on working with WebDesk.
R-SCOPE
The Partner version of Sun's SCOPE-Tool (Sun Customer Order Process Evaluation Tool). Used to verify mission-critical solutions, ensuring that the hardware and software supplied is able to be supported by Sun, and to update and communicate service notifications. OSC
Online Support Centre accessed via Partner Portal. Use this customer service portal tool to request installations and to log Enterprise support calls. For more information on OSC, go to Sun Services section of the guide.
RPricerTool
Provides easy access to on-line, up-to-date pricing information. Found on the Partner Portal together with a helpful tutorial. Registration and approval may be required to access certain price lists.
Leadtime Tool
Leadtimes can be obtained via pricertool queries. When a request is sent using the auto-responder function, the part number, price and expected number of working days leadtime is sent back to the requester. Please note that transit time is not included. Leadtimes will only be secured when orders are confirmed to Sun.
IBB PathFinder Tool
Helps find the correct code to use when quoting for IBB allowances for product upgrades.
Order Status Tool
Use to send requests for schedule dates on orders placed, and to receive advice on ship date from Sun. Access by registering as a user via the Partner Portal.
Approved Partner Search Tool
Use the search facility on the URL below to determine whether a Partner is an approved iForce Sun partner. If in any doubt, please contact either your Sun Account Manager or your Business Support Manager. http://solutions.sun.com/iforce/pd/home.jsp
Worldwide Configuration Guide
Contains product information and comprehensive configuration data from Sun's pricebook. Updated with every major new product announcement, the guide serves as an up-to-date reference to enable partners to review the latest configuration information.
Ready Reckoner/DealDesk
Owned and managed by the Sun Industry Sales Representatives, this tool is not available to partners but manages the internal approval process for sign off of CAD support where applicable.
A Deal Agreement (DA), Project Agreement (PA) or Key Account Agreement (KAA) is required as a valid approval reference for all shipments by Partners requiring additional financial support from Sun.
Sun Syndicated Catalogue
Sun Partners can now embed the online Sun Product Catalogue into their own websites. The system can be configured so that a customer's request for a quotation is emailed directly back to the Sun Partner.
SunFund Online Tool
Makes reporting and tracking of your SunFund easier. This user-friendly tracking web browser application enables you to take control of your claims, reporting and balance enquiries - with immediate access whenever you need them. For access, go to https://sunfund.sun.com.
