Sun PRO

Comprises a comprehensive range of fixed-scope, fixed-deliverable services, specially designed to complement and implement Sun technology.

SunPRO part numbers are usually prefixed by GB-PS-XXXXX. Please note that when using the PS quote tool, part numbers are individual to each quote and when ordering, you should use the generic code as the part number and reference the quoted part number in the text.

SunSkills, Managed Services, Lifecycle Solutions Delivery

Is a portfolio of services that focus on "service availability" by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of an organisation's IT service management.

Pricing is likely to be Time and Materials based, or a Fixed Price project and will vary according to the specific engagement. You will be given the product codes to use for booking purposes by the designated PS sales representative.

Bespoke Projects

Include consultancy, non price-book third party products and the larger and more complex projects that can be undertaken by Sun PS. These are generally managed by a Sun PS Project Manager.

Pricing for bespoke projects is dependent on customer requirements, and can be based on specific deliverables (fixed price) or on a time and materials basis. The product codes to use for placing the order will be provided by the Sun PS Sales representative associated with the deal. Typically, bespoke projects part numbers are prefixed by UK-SIS-XXX.

Complementary Products (formerly Special Products Group)

Are third party products that bring increased value to an integratable stack of Sun hardware and software products.

All products are discount category H.

Sun PS Ordering Procedure

When raising a Partner order on Sun, ALL of the following should be quoted on the order text to ensure your order is sent to the correct department in good time:

  • End User Name and contact telephone number
  • Sun Contact Name
  • Partner Contact Name and telephone number
  • Additional references e.g. PS Quote ref and/or Other refs (Reference generated by Quoting Tool if used e.g. GB-PS-MIMPL-RS-9999)
  • Any technical references such as a UPS sizing reference number

Orders should be sent manually (not via EDI) from your Purchasing department to the agreed contacts.

Tips to remember

  • All purchase orders placed must have the supporting order text
  • All items ordered should be placed using valid Sun part codes
  • PS work will not be started without a valid purchase order from the Partner
